One of the best writers i know! Fell in love with her when i read Losses and Gains. Lya Luft’s words have a very special message for us: ignoring outdated theories, she tells us with humor and insight that it is down to us how the dramas of our lives unfold.
**Lya Luft was born in the State of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil in 1938. She studied German and English and lectured as a professor of Linguistics in Porto Alegre for many years. She translated Virginia Woolf, Günter Grass and Thomas Mann, among others. With her first novels, highly accredited by the critics, she conquered a large readership, which has remained loyal ever since. Just in Brazil, her books have been selling more than a million copies.
Now i am reading for the second time Pensar é transgredir (“To Think is to Transgress”) and i just can't get enough of her words. She is an amazing woman and a great writer.

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.
And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

When we see things as they are we can make informed decisions, we can make the BEST decision to move on or mold and shape our lives around it 'what it is'. Wishing for bad situations to be different will only bring pain and disappointment...It does not allow you to become the wonderful person that you truly are...it just keeps you stuck.
I've been stuck for too long. I'm stepping back now and looking at what really is, it is not the ideal situation and i'm making a decision for the better.

"Looking for unconditional love in a world of conditions must inevitably fail. Since all of your brothers and sisters are acting out of shame-based patterns, they cannot offer you the love you know that you deserve, nor can you offer it to them. The best that you can do is raise each other's awareness of the love that is necessary and begin taking responsibility for giving it to yourself. If you do not take responsibility for bringing love to your own wounds, you will not move out of the vicious cycle of attack/defense, guilt and blame. Your feelings of rage, hurt and betrayal - all of which seem justified - will just fuel the fire of interpersonal conflict and continue to reinforce your unconscious belief that you are unlovable and incapable of loving."

ALL IS ONE
WHAT
DOES IT MEAN THE SYMBOL?
The meaning of the triskell symbol is not entirely clear, probably because it represents various, overlapping meanings. In general it is linked to the magical value of the number three, defined as the perfect number by the Catholic church too since it was chosen to represent the Christian trinity, which took the place of the ancient Pagan triad.

The
presence of a centre that acts as a pivot (the steady point of the
rotation) and a circle that separates the design from the outside, connects
it to the sun cult too.
In addition, the presence of spirals, which
always symbolise movement, links it to the principle and in the
end, to the eternal evolution of things that change over time.
THREE
IN ONE
The triad was the system the Celts used to make sense of the world and divinity.
The triad was the system the Celts used to make sense of the world and divinity.
Every goddess
for example had a triple function as Virgin-Mother-Old Woman, and
also as Daughter-Mother-Sister.
Every god, in the same way, was Boy-Father-Hunter,
or Son-Father-Brother.
All these figures express the cycles and roles
of life: Beginning, Fertility and Senility.
Senility or
Old age and Hunter – the Hunter figure is described in the
article “Horned and happy”
– are figures that reconnect with death, which, like birth, is the
door that opens onto another new life.
THE
THREE WORLDS
Widening the scope of the numerous meanings, for the Celts the triskell represented the triple manifestation of the One God, whose gifts are Strength, Wisdom and Love.

- The triskell represents
the three classes of Celtic society – Warriors, Druids
and Producers – who embody these energies on earth.
- The
triskell represents the three worlds that make up the visible and
invisible universe: the World of the Absolute, the Spiritual
World (or the Other World, the other side) and the Human World
or the World of Trials.
- The triskell represents the three
phases of the sun as we see it: Dawn, Noon and Sunset.
-
The triskell represents the threefold nature of every human being,
who is made up of Action (body), Feeling (emotions) and Thought
(soul, spirit) and through three ages: Childhood, Maturity
and Old age.

How foolish is to think that we love only with our hearts. The heart is just an organ with a job to do, a quota to fill. When i love, i don't want to love with a blood-pumping machine. I want to love with every inch of my body. I will love you with my knees and my fingertips, with my elbows and my collarbones. With my freckles and my knuckles. My wrinkles and my scars.
And i will love you with all the spaces in between.
